Apollo developed a severe case of pneumonia, and after multiple antibiotics, feeding tubes, and chest drains, he finally told us it was time to say good-bye on 5/30/15.

Biography:          Apollo came to us as a favor to one of our most dedicated volunteers when his previous mom's living situation changed.  Having been an only cat, it took him a little while to adjust.  After a week or so, he settled in and quickly turned into a shelter favorite.  He really enjoyed long afternoon naps on the couch, but his absolute favorite thing was belly rubs on the floor!!  What a big ball of love!  It broke our hearts when he got sick with pneumonia about a month after arriving.  He spent the last week of his life in Jenni's loving care, at her home.  Even Jenni's promise to adopt him, if only he would get better, didn't pull him through.  He went over the bridge with Jenni and Kirsten at his side, surrounded by a circle of Kirsten's stuffed animals and with angels Henry and Mary (Kirsten's favorite cat and chicken) watching over him.  We were all devastated.  Godspeed, dear Apollo.
