Biography: Cornbread and her three kittens, Biscuit, Shoe, and Small Fry, were discovered living outside a local restaurant. They were taken to the Iowa Humane Alliance for spaying and neutering, and Jenni decided to rescue them. (The restaurant people said Cornbread and her kittens absolutely could not come back there.) So our dedicated volunteers have been playing with these kittens for several weeks now, getting them socialized. Biscuit and Shoe have really come around, and are just fine with people. Even Small Fry, who was really, really shy, has made progress -- she still runs away and hisses, but not quite as loud as before! She will lick food off your finger and let you pet her while she's eating. She will require some patience, but we're confident she'll fully adjust to being handled. Barely more than a kitten herself, Cornbread is sweet as can be, and rubs against your leg asking for pets when we're scooping the litter box. She will steal your heart. The entire family tested negative for FeLV and FIV and don't belong at Witty Kitties!! Please come check them out and fall in love!
