Biography:        Skittles is an absolutely beautiful calico who was in foster care at Waverly Pet Rescue until it was discovered she was positive for feline leukemia.  Luckily, we had a space for her.  Skittles is very shy, and she hid from us under the recliner.  Then she discovered the kitty door to the outside, and she took up residence underneath a plastic tub in her outside enclosure.  We rarely saw her, but she must have been coming inside to eat, because when we checked on her under the tub she looked fine.  As fall approached, we decided to bring her back indoors and keep her in a haven to try to get her used to us and her roommates.  She accepts petting in her haven, and will tolerate being picked up.  But we're pretty sure she'd go back into hiding if we let her out of the haven.  Once winter arrives and we close up the kitty door to the outside, we'll let her out into the room again and go from there.  She has the softest fur you've ever felt, so we really hope we can convince her that people aren't all that bad!
