Without even letting us know anything was terribly wrong, Pumpkin went over the rainbow bridge on her own on 04/15/11.  We'll miss her hissing at us!

Biography:         Pumpkin's story is very sad.  She had lived with the same mom for all of her 13 years.  Then her mom got sick and had to move into a nursing home.  So after knowing only one home and one mom, Pumpkin is now having to figure out Witty Kitties and all the different people who come to take care of her.  She has cerebellar hypoplasia, which makes her very wobbly and unsteady, but she can slowly make it around the room without falling down if she's very careful.  Pumpkin is front declawed, which makes walking even more difficult for her.  She's really petite, with very short legs.  It's the sweetest thing watching her walk across the room to get in and out of the litter box.  Sadly, Pumpkin is not a friendly cat, and would take a really special person to adopt her.  She's bitten a couple of us, and will tolerate your lap and petting for a short time if you manage to picking her up by the scruff of her neck.  She long-haired, and was badly matted when her mom went into the nursing home -- brushing her will be a challenge.  Apparently even in her old home she was a one-person kitty, hiding from and hissing at anyone who visited her mom.  Poor Pumpkin -- we want to love her so much -- hopefully she'll let us get a little closer each day.
